About us - My outsourcing story

I thought, I was Clark Kent in my role as Operations Director for Total Success Institute .  In 2004 we were a small company with 2 Coaches, a fantastic product and lots of ideas. There was so much to do and I didn't even think about who else could help me, I wasn't really aware of outsourcing as a concept. 

I came across someone who was offering websites for coaches for around $150, I picked up the phone and called him. I wanted to know how he was able to offer a price so low. TSI had already been stung for $5000 on an aborted attempt to organise a database driven site.

The answer that I was given was that, he was using a company in India, who were producing good quality sites for that price.  I suppose that is where the seed for Outsource Success was first planted. I had already developed some expertise in

  • Shopping Carts
  • Virtual Learning Environments (Moodle)
  • Open Source Software.
  • Membership sites
  • Autoresponders
  • Affiliate marketing

I relished finding new systems and projects to implement , however I realised that once I acquired the knowledge and skill of how to complete a task, there was not much to be gained by continuing to do it as the tasks were not income producing.

 
 

The next stage I went through was to identify organisations and individuals primarily in India that could do the work for meI learnt a lot, I swore a lot and I ranted a lot and occasionally I was surprised and pleased with the results.

I became tired and frustrated by spending time teaching outsourcers and also in house people, how to complete the common tasks that I no longer wanted to do. I started creating Camtasia videos of me carrying out the specific tasks that the outsourcers could view in their own time and not involve me having to teach them.  That was a huge breakthrough.


 
Recently, I have pushed my outsourcing to another level, having identified a top quality person based in India , I now have him manage the outsourcers for me.  Now he runs the company for me and all I do is the introductory calls with clients on the front end , which is what I really enjoy and am good at. I'm playing to my strength.
Superman This is the stage that I want to bring the clients of outsource success to very quickly, so they don't have to go through the growing pains that I have in my outsourcing journey.
